Calne may be small, but the celebrations here are mighty (especially if Hog Roast Calne has anything to do with it!). Honestly? We’re never happier than when we’ve got an event to cater so it’s a good thing the locals are always up for a party!
Recently, we were lucky enough to be invited to a wedding over at the old Calne Baptist Church on Castle Street. As you can probably imagine the happy couple had been looking forward to their big day for quite some time, and we’re delighted they decided to treat their 75 guests to our signature hog roast. (Always a good choice, if you ask us).
Nothing says memorable like a hog roast buffet, and Hog Roast Calne pulled out all the stops to ensure this feast was everything the couple had been dreaming of. Our catering manager, Rik, spent hours slowly roasting the whole hog to perfection. By the time the 6pm dinner service rolled around the pig was so golden it practically glowed and the meat inside was irresistibly tender.
The pig would have won the guests over all on its own, but at Hog Roast Calne we’re big believers that stuffing makes everything better. Cooked in the hog’s juices for an extra layer of savoury goodness, our crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside stuffing was a welcome addition. Of course, we also had our homemade sweet 
applesauce on display, along with fresh salads, coleslaw, gluten-free and wholemeal rolls, plus a mix of sweet potato and classic fries complete with salt, vinegar and an assortment of sauces.
It wasn’t just the meat-lovers who were in their element either! If there’s one thing you should know about Hog Roast Calne, it’s that everyone has a seat at our table. Yes, that means veggies, vegans and gluten-intolerant folks can always find something tasty on our menu. For this event, that meant pulled BBQ jackfruit sliders, smothered in smoky hickory sauce with plant-based ‘slaw on top. They were so tasty people couldn’t resist licking their fingers clean!
