Wind Down With Hog Roast Wincanton!

Hog Roast WincantonBy the time November rolls around most of us are running on a mix of caffeine, willpower and whatever sunlight we can grab between the endless sea of grey clouds. Whether you’ve spent the year racing through deadlines or you’re simply feeling the effects of those short days and loooong nights, it’s totally normal to be a bit frazzled. But instead of disappearing into hibernation mode why not give yourself something to look forward to?

That’s exactly what our latest clients decided to do. After a long year of solid graft, they chose to celebrate the end of the financial year with a chilled-out work gathering on the 21st of November at the beautifully rustic Higher Cuttlesham Farm. And – music to our ears – they asked Hog Roast Wincanton to take care of the feast.

Rik, our catering manager, was on chef duty for the evening, spending the entire afternoon prepping everything with the utmost care and devotion. Step one: the hog. Using a full free-range pig, he scored the skin, seasoned it up with salt and settled it into one of our state-of-the-art roasters to begin its slow-cook transformation. Once that was underway, he turned his attention to the sides… and trust me, there were plenty!

Hog Roast WincantonTo make sure every plate was a winner, Hog Roast Wincanton put together homemade sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, tomato and mozzarella salad, crisp mixed salad, creamy coleslaw, and both sweet potato and classic fries – with salt, vinegar and sauces ready for anyone who likes to customise. And a basket jam-packed with gluten-free and wholemeal rolls and wraps meant everyone could build a boss sandwich too.

For those steering clear of meat altogether, the veggie options were just as inviting. Rik rustled up our famous vegetable kebabs using fresh seasonal produce, with the option to add halloumi for that glorious salty bite. Served alongside flatbreads, sweet chilli sauce and tzatziki, they were a total crowd-pleaser.

As the evening went on, plates were piled high, guests were relaxed and happy and nobody was shy about reaching for seconds! Hog Roast Wincanton loved being part of such a well-earned celebration – and if you’re thinking about treating your team before the year wraps up, now’s the perfect time to reach out. Trust us… you’ll earn major boss points.
