How many guests will one pig feed?
This will vary on the size of the pig. However we will always buy a relevant sized pig to feed the amount of guests that you have. We can feed any number of guests at your event so this is not something that you would need to worry about. An average sized pig will make 160 sandwiches.
How much is a hog roast per guest?
Unlike many of our competitor caterers we don’t charge per head. You may find that with Spitting Pig Somerset, you could increase your numbers by 20 guests and it wouldn’t affect the price. We have our set costs before reaching the event, the number of guests would determine the size of pig that we will need.
What if it rains and we require you to cook outdoors?
We do have a gazebo to protect the food from bad weather so cooking outdoors will never be a problem for us. We can even cook outside and serve inside if required. Whatever the weather you will still have a hog roast to feed your hungry guests!
I would like to cook the pig myself, how do I hire one of your machines?
Many people do enjoy cooking and love to cook for others, our hog roast machine hire service is becoming more and more popular, especially because of how easy it is. Simply fill in our enquiry form and one of our team members will be in contact to discuss your hire package. I am wanting something different than your suggested menus, is this possible?
Yes, it is possible. We have created our classic menus to cover any style of event, however many people do want to create their own menu which is not a problem. You can either tweak any menu to suit you or we can work together to create your very own hog roast catering menu.
Do I need to do anything for you on the day of my event?
On the day of the event you simply need to relax while we take care of all the catering for you. We are fully self-sufficient and will take care of everything from the set up, serving and then even the clean up so you don’t need to worry about any washing up or rubbish!
I have a few vegetarian and gluten free guests attending, will I need to provide something for them myself?
Many people worry that hog roast catering is not inclusive for all of their guests, but with Spitting Pig Somerset we aim to ensure that everyone is just as involved no matter what their dietary requirements. We have a wide selection of vegetarian alternatives to choose from that do prove very popular, even with the meat eaters so we are always sure to prepare a few extra, and there is always an option to have gluten free fresh bread rolls and wraps.
