Hog Roast Salisbury Treated Nutshell Portions Ltd To A Tasty Feast Over Christmas!

Hog Roast SalisburyHappy New Year to all of our fellow foodies out there – we hope the Christmas break treated you kindly and that there was plenty of good food involved. There certainly was on our end!

Christmas at Hog Roast Salisbury was anything but quiet. Once December arrived, things didn’t really slow down again until the year was over. We were on the road a lot, bouncing between bookings across Somerset, and barely had time to stop and check the calendar. Busy, yes – but the good kind of busy.

One booking that really stuck with us came from a family-run business right here in Salisbury. Nutshell Portions Ltd. got in touch about doing something special for their team just before Christmas, and we were more than happy to help. If you’ve ever grabbed a coffee sachet, a sugar stick, or a little pot of jam in a café or hotel, there’s a good chance it came from them. They’ve been at it for over thirty years and take pride in doing things properly – especially when it comes to quality and sustainability. And after a year of non-stop work, their team deserved a decent treat before the holidays.

The plan was lunch on December 23rd – Christmas Eve Eve – for 48 members of staff. Hog Roast Salisbury arrived early that morning while it was still properly cold, and catering manager Alistair got straight to work setting everything up and getting the hog on the grill.

By the time the clock struck 12:30 pm, the entire site was filled with the unmistakably mouth-watering aroma of slow-roasted pork. The meat, cooked perfectly, Hog Roast Salisburyfell away from the bone with ease, while the crackling was crisp, crunchy and bubbling in all the right places. We served it with sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce, plus a spread of sides including tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, coleslaw, and freshly cooked chips. Classic and sweet potato. Salt, vinegar, sauces – all the essentials.

We also made sure there were other options on hand. Succulent chicken thighs went down well, and grilled vegetable skewers (with or without halloumi depending on dietary requirements) meant everyone had something to enjoy.

As Christmas parties go, this one turned out even better than we could have hoped.

And now, as the new year gets going, if you’re thinking about feeding a crowd at your next celebration, you know where we are. Phone or email Hog Roast Salisbury today and we’ll get back ASAP with a free quote. Yes –  it’s that easy.

Here’s to a tasty 2026!
