We know how much you love hearing about what we’ve been up to, so today we thought we’d tell you all about a recent event Hog Roast Weston-super-Mare catered, which quickly became the highlight of our week – and maybe even our month. Yes, it was that good!
It all started with a sneaky phone call from John and Mary’s daughters, Rachel and Olivia. The girls had got chatting and decided to plan something special for their mum and dad’s anniversary. Because this wasn’t just any anniversary – it was their Diamond Anniversary. That’s 60 years for anyone counting.
Hoping to give John and Mary something special to remember and show them how much they are appreciated, Rachel and Olivia secretly planned an extravagant celebration in the event suite of a luxury hotel nearby. They decked the space out with balloons, banners – the whole nine yards. Even the dining tables were scattered with faux diamonds to remind everyone of the milestone occasion.
And then there was the food. Rachel and Olivia had heard plenty of great things about Hog Roast Weston-super-Mare and agreed we’d be the perfect fit for the party. Spoiler Alert: They were right. Our caterers really stepped up to the plate… pun unintended.
At first, our menu options had them spoilt for choice, but with a little help from our team, they soon settled on one of our more formal dining options. Complete with delicate canapes and drinks on arrival, this luxe spread had everyone hooked from the first bite.
The 80 guests were amazed by our beautifully crafted selection of mini fish and chips, smoked Scottish salmon, gourmet sausages and mini pizzas topped with basil oil, which kept them ticking over nicely until John and Mary made their grand entrance. To say they were stunned when they finally realised what their daughters had planned would be an understatement, but after the initial surprise wore off, they wasted no time getting in line for the buffet.
As the guests of honour, John and Mary had the first pick from our spread. Piling generous portions of pulled pork, stuffing, crackling, applesauce and thyme-infused chicken onto their plates, they indulged in everything we had to offer. Their guests followed suit, adding coleslaw, fresh salads and creamy dauphinoise potatoes to their plates along with Sauce Shop sauces and freshly baked rolls and wraps.
People helped themselves to seconds and thirds until they thought they were stuffed. But Hog Roast Weston-super-Mare’s delicious puds soon piqued their appetites once again.
We had a ball catering for this special celebration and are so thankful Rachel and Olivia for placing their trust in us. Happy anniversary to John and Mary – here’s to many more happy years!
