Your wedding day isn’t just a moment. It’s the moment – and everything about it should feel just right. The outfits, the music, the people… and yes, the food. Especially the food. Because if there’s one thing guests remember (apart from how happy you looked) it’s what was on their plate.
At Hog Roast Bristol, that’s something we take seriously – but never in a stiff, boring way. For us, it’s about creating food that people genuinely enjoy. The kind that gets guests chatting, going back for seconds, and sneaking a “just one more bite” even when they’re full.
That’s exactly what happened at a recent wedding we catered on the 4th of April – and what a day it turned out to be.
From early on, the couple had a clear idea of what they wanted: something relaxed, generous, and full of flavour. No fuss, no pretence – just really good food that everyone could get stuck into. Rob, our catering manager, worked closely with them in the lead-up, helping fine-tune the details so nothing felt rushed or uncertain.
By the time the big day arrived, everything was in place. Hog Roast Bristol’s team was on-site early, quietly getting things going in the background while the celebrations unfolded; salads were prepped, serving areas set, and the hog – well, that was the star of the show – slowly roasting away, filling the air with that unmistakable, mouth-watering aroma.
And let me tell you, by the time 8pm rolled around the guests were more than ready to grab their forks.
Once carved, the pork was exactly how you’d hope – tender, juicy and paired with crispy crackling that disappeared almost instantly. Add in fluffy sage and onion stuffing, applesauce and a stack of soft rolls, and this became the kind of meal that drew guests in like bees to honey.
Hog Roast Bristol didn’t forget about anyone else, either. BBQ-pulled jackfruit sliders and grilled vegetable kebabs (with optional halloumi) meant veggie and vegan guests had just as much to look forward to. No side dishes disguised as mains – just proper options that held their own.
Plates were filled, laughter carried across the venue, and the couple? What can we say, they were right there in the middle of it all, enjoying every second – exactly as it should be.
For Hog Roast Bristol, that’s the goal every time. Good food, no stress and a day that feels as special as it’s meant to.
