Wedding season is in full swing and honestly, Hog Roast Salisbury is thriving. Welcome dinners, bridal showers, stag dos, and the big days themselves – the last few weeks have been a blur of early mornings, full roasting grills and some genuinely beautiful celebrations. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
The most recent couple to let us be part of their day were Gemma and Danny, who tied the knot nearby surrounded by 100 of their favourite people. The venue looked beautiful, the atmosphere was exactly what you hope for at a wedding – warm, vibrant, emotional in the best possible way and full of people who were genuinely happy to be there – and by the time 7:30pm rolled around, everyone was ready to eat.
That’s where we came in.
After a full afternoon of cooking, Hog Roast Salisbury opened up the buffet and the guests wasted absolutely no time digging in. The centrepiece was, of course, a hog roast – slow-cooked until the pork was tender and the crackling had hit that satisfying, shatter-on-contact texture that people lose their minds over. Guests could pile it into rolls or wraps, or go plateside and build something more substantial alongside tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, creamy coleslaw, herby new potatoes and freshly made fries with salt, vinegar and a generous line-up of dipping sauces. Sage and onion stuffing and homemade applesauce rounded the whole thing out.
What we love about a buffet like this is that no two plates end up looking the same. Some guests go heavy on the crackling and keep everything else simple. Others build these elaborate, stacked
combinations that probably shouldn’t work but absolutely do.
Hog Roast Salisbury made sure the vegetarian and vegan guests had plenty to get excited about too. Grilled vegetable kebabs – served with or without halloumi – alongside tzatziki, flatbreads and sweet chilli sauce were a hit, and the BBQ pulled jackfruit buns disappeared even faster than we expected.
Gemma and Danny were over the moon with how it all came together, and honestly, so were we.
If your wedding is coming up and the food matters to you – which it should – get in touch with Hog Roast Salisbury. We’d love to be part of your day.
