We all know weddings don’t last forever. But after all the months, sometimes years, of planning that go into getting everything just right, it feels a bit cruel that it’s all wrapped up in twenty-four little hours. Or, as most couples tend to put it, the blink of an eye. Between getting ready, exchanging vows, crying at speeches you swore you wouldn’t cry at and cutting the cake, the whole day tends to whip by in such a blur that actually sitting back and soaking it all in becomes surprisingly hard.
We’re not trying to be the voice of doom and gloom here. Promise. Hog Roast Bristol loves a wedding just as much as the next hopeless romantic in the room. We just wish they stretched on a little longer, and it turns out, plenty of couples feel exactly the same.
Multi-day weddings have properly taken off across the UK these last few years, with couples deciding they’d rather turn their big day into a bigger celebration spread across more than one. And honestly? Hog Roast Bristol is fully on board with that.
Having attended more weddings than we can count – both personally and professionally – it genuinely gets to us seeing couples rushed from one moment to the next without a proper chance to appreciate everything they’ve worked toward. So many couples tell us afterward they barely got to see their own guests, which stings even more when people have travelled miles to be there for them.
But stretching the celebration out, even by just one extra day, takes the pressure off trying to squeeze everything into a single afternoon, giving you and your other half real time to enjoy it properly – and it’s easier on guests too, letting them mingle at a much more relaxed pace.
So when a recent client reached out asking if we’d cater a party the day after their wedding, we jumped at it. With 100 guests sticking around for round two, there were a lot of mouths to feed but we were more than ready for them with our Southern Slow Roast Menu. With its rustic, soul-warming Deep South flavours, it successfully brought everyone back together over something warm and tasty while they relived the excitement of the day before.
Hog Roast Bristol had a genuinely great time catering this one, and the guests clearly had a blast too, judging by how quickly everything disappeared. So, if you fancy adding an extra day of fun to your wedding celebrations, we’d be thrilled to be part of it.
