A different experience with the help from Hog Roast Bridgwater

Hog Roast Bridgwater’s catering manager Alistair had a different menu on Saturday near Bishops Waltham. The menu was no ordinary Hog Roast Bridgwater menu but rather just a snippet of one. Alistair and his team were requested to serve canapés for the delightful bride Courtney, her new husband and 28 guests.

Courtney and her partner had hired out a farmer’s field and the set up they created with that space was creative and super cute! They had a tepee-styled stretch tent as the centre of the field. Underneath and surrounding it were hay barrels. The hay barrels were used for seating and as make-shift tables. On the hay tables were alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, strategically placed to maintain balance. For instance, there was a ‘beer barrow’ and a ‘pimp your Prosecco’ station. Vintage drink dispensers were also set up with cordials and Pimm’s. Along the stretch tent and hay barrels were colourful bunting strips and attached to these were photos of the bride and groom. 3 metres from the stretch tent and following it round in a circle were picnic tables with parasols for protection from the sun. Each picnic table had a centrepiece candle structure. In addition, wooden barrels had been dotted around to be used as drink tables. It looked wonderful, especially with the sun blazing down.

Hog Roast BridgwaterThe most challenging task for Hog Roast Bridgwater on this job was to build a cheese tower for the bride and groom’s wedding ‘cake’. This was a first for Alistair, but he successfully built it and made it look fantastic. To make the cheese display extra scrumptious-looking, Alistair and his team added crackers, chutneys, and fruit in patterns around the bottom so that the table looked divinely edible!

As the guests made their way into the centre of the field, Hog Roast Bridgwater team walked around with delicious canapés for them all to enjoy. The canapés were presented on rustic wooden boards that fitted into the theme perfectly. Alistair always ensures that a bridal platter is made up of the canapés to ensure that the bridal party, usually caught up with photo’s still get the canapé experience, especially as they are usually starving!
