Lauren and David celebrate their wedding anniversary in June each year and this year marks 15 years since they tied the knot. Over the years, the pair have enjoyed a variety of anniversary celebrations, including holidays, meals out, and quiet nights in. This year, they were told to keep the date free as their daughters were taking over the event planning and wanted to organise something special for them. Hog Roast Ilminster was contacted to provide a delicious menu for the couple and 60 guests at a beautiful marquee in Somerset, with live music and an open bar. The event sounded great and our catering manager Alistair was looking forward to getting involved and making this a night for Lauren and David to remember for many anniversaries to come!
When the day of the event arrived, the Hog Roast Ilminster team arrived at the venue in the afternoon and began the menu preparations by slow-roasting the hog. The meat needed around five hours to roast to perfection to ensure that it was cooked evenly and packed full of natural juices and flavours. Once ready, the pork was expertly carved by our chef and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we also served succulent pork sausages and veggie sausages, as well as homemade chips and a selection of fresh salad dishes. Our menu was served buffet style to the guests, with everyone able to grab a plate and enjoy what we had to offer!
