Guests Went Wild For Hog Roast Minehead At A Carnival Wedding

If there’s anything more exciting than a regular wedding, it’s a wedding with a theme! So, when bride and groom, Natasha and Christopher asked us if we would cater for their carnival-themed nuptials, we couldn’t say yes quick enough!

After months of planning and preparations, their big day finally went ahead last Saturday, and boy, was it worth the wait! The Hog Roast Minehead team had arrived at the botanical gardens venue in the early hours of the morning, and after setting up the gazebo, string lights and buffet tables in preparation for the reception, they got straight to work cooking the food for the occasion.

Hog Roast MineheadThe couple had chosen items from our Southern Slow Roast Menu for the event, consisting of BBQ pork butt, Texan 24 hour beef brisket and fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, which our caterers grilled for several hours on the HogMaster until the meats were as tender as can be. They also prepared a large batch of vegan-friendly BBQ pulled jackfruit, which was slow-simmered and steeped in a delicious hickory sauce before being served up on gluten-free rolls with vegan coleslaw.

For the sides, Hog Roast Minehead’s caterers prepared Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, all-American style mac and cheese, mixed fries and corn cobbettes with melting butter. And once the food was sorted, the team helped set up the dining furniture in the carnival tent for the wedding party.

After a busy morning, the venue was completely transformed to match the couple’s vision. The field was alive with colour from the various tents that had been set up, some of which included different forms of carnival entertainment like balloon-making, clowns, trapeze artists and juggling acts, while others had been set up for photo shoots for the guests. The smells of Hog Roast Minehead’s gorgeously grilled meats wafted through the air, along with scents of fresh-made popcorn, doughnuts and candy floss from the various carts dotted around the venue.

Natasha and Christopher were so pleased with the outcome, and they were especially pleased with Hog Roast Minehead’s input, which made the day feel even more special!
