There’s something timeless about marking a wedding with a feast, and at Hog Roast Bristol, we’re always honoured to be part of such a special day. On 30th August, Catering Manager Alistair and the team had the pleasure of serving up a spectacular menu for Anna and Alexander’s wedding at the beautiful Society of Merchant Venturers in Clifton, Bristol. With 80 guests gathered in this historic venue, our aim was to deliver food that matched the elegance of the day while keeping the atmosphere warm and relaxed.
At the heart of the menu was our whole roasted pig, slowly cooked until the crackling was crisp and golden. Served with our signature apple sauce and traditional sage and onion stuffing, it offered that perfect mix of flavour and comfort that never fails to impress. Guests could choose from a variety of bread rolls and wraps, with gluten free options available so everyone could enjoy the experience.
To complement the hog roast, the couple chose a trio of fresh, vibrant sides: tomato and mozzarella salad, a refreshing Thai salad, and a deliciously rich pasta with pesto, parmesan, and rocket. These dishes added colour, balance, and a touch of Mediterranean flair to the buffet. For the potato option, we served herb dressed new potatoes, offering a simple but flavourful addition that paired perfectly with the main.
Inclusivity is always a key part of what we do, and for vegetarian and vegan guests, our much-loved vegan pulled jackfruit was on the menu. Served in a bun with smoky hickory BBQ sauce and topped with a crunchy slaw, it provided all the flavour and satisfaction of a hog roast without the meat.
Everything was presented buffet-style on eco-friendly wooden crockery and cutlery, striking the right balance between casual dining and wedding elegance. Guests were able to help themselves, mingle, and enjoy the atmosphere while savouring a delicious plateful.
It was a day filled with love, laughter, and incredible food, and the Hog Roast Bristol team were proud to play a part in Anna and Alexander’s unforgettable celebration.
