There are many reasons why summer weddings are so popular – the weather is warm, the days are long, and the flowers are in full bloom. But if you ask us, autumn nuptials are nothing short of spectacular.
Between the burnt orange and red leaves, the crisp air and pale skies, autumn is a magical time of year to tie the knot – especially here in Somerset. On that note, we can’t wait to tell you all about the incredible wedding that Hog Roast Carhampton had the pleasure of catering for recently!
The happy couple on this occasion were Louise and Evan, who had been looking forward to tying the knot ever since Evan had bent the knee 18 months ago during their city break to Paris. How romantic!
Right away, the pair had agreed on having an autumnal wedding, and, after visiting countless venues in the area, they finally settled on a grand Victorian manor house surrounded by 500 acres of gorgeous greenery.
Their next step was to find a suitable catering service to provide a top-quality meal for them and their 250 guests, and after a quick internet search, they discovered Hog Roast Carhampton. After scanning through our glowing reviews and recommendations, the pair got straight on the phone and the rest, as they say, is history!
Our catering manager, Alistair, was thrilled to be hired for this event, and when the wedding day arrived last Saturday, he went above and beyond to make sure that Louise and Evan had a fantastic time.
As always, Alistair and the team arrived at the venue long before any of the guests, which afforded them enough time to set out the cooking equipment and serving tables, set the dining tables with decorations provided by the couple and finally, whip up a delicious spread.
The menu chosen for the day was our Formal Wedding Catering Menu, which presented the guests with a canapé selection, followed by a full three-course meal with sides and a wedding cake service to finish. The guests loved everything on offer but were particularly enamoured by Hog Roast Carhampton’s signature spit-roasted pig!
