What a week it’s been for Hog Roast Ilton! On Saturday, we had the absolute honour of bringing some serious flavour to Leah and William’s wedding, and let’s just say, it was a day to remember!
The couple had spent nearly two years dreaming, planning, and curating every detail of their big day, and they told us that our service was the cherry on top of their perfect celebration. We couldn’t be more thrilled to hear that!
Their chosen venue was a jaw-droppingly gorgeous converted barn that was the epitome of industrial-chic coolness. Think wooden beams, sleek black steel framework, exposed brick, and reclaimed wood flooring. Add in the hanging wisteria, twinkling fairy lights, and magical woodland views and it was like a Pinterest board come to life!
With 140 guests ready to celebrate, the barn was buzzing with excitement. After the touching vows were exchanged inside, Leah and William slipped away for some private photos. Meanwhile, Hog Roast Ilton was hard at work, transforming the Mediterranean-style courtyard into the perfect spot for pre-dinner nibbles.
With temperatures soaring to a toasty 27 degrees, our selection of refreshments and canapés was a hit. Guests enjoyed smoked Scottish salmon, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, mini fish and chips, chicken satay skewers and mini pizzas—talk about a tasty tease!
When the newlyweds reappeared, the courtyard erupted in cheers and applause, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. After heartfelt speeches and a few happy tears, it was time for the main event: the buffet!
Our catering manager, Alistair, had everything running like clockwork as guests dove into a feast fit for royalty. The highlight of the spread was our succulent hog roast rolls, stacked high with tender pulled pork, crispy crackling, stuffing, and applesauce.
For poultry lovers, we had whole-roast chicken with chipolata sausages and stuffing, plus grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers for the veggie and vegan guests. Sides, like heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, Caesar salad, coleslaw, and buttery new potatoes added even more deliciousness to the spread.
And just when everyone thought it couldn’t get any better, Alistair rolled out the desserts. Our glorious chocolate tortes and sticky toffee pudding were the grand finale, vanishing almost as quickly as they were served!
Hog Roast Ilton truly nailed this wedding feast, and it was an honour to be part of Leah and William’s big day!
