September ended with a bang for the Hog Roast Sherborne team after we’d been asked to cater for Mogers Drewett’s staff party! As one of the Southwest’s top firms for legal and financial services, their team is usually busy handling demanding workloads. So, an evening to relax, share some laughs, and enjoy a great meal together was a well-earned treat!
This highly-anticipated get-together took place on the last Friday of the month at ‘The Sherborne’. Yes, that swish new art gallery and events space in Newland! If you’ve yet to check it out, it’s gorgeous. The Grade I Listed Georgian Manor is brimming with charm and history. From the iconic Thornhill Mural to the creative modern touches, there’s really no place like it.
And for our catering manager, Alistair, a trip to The Sherborne was especially exciting! Having worked in the area for 21 years, he knows a lot of people who worked on giving this historic site a facelift. So, being able to cook up a storm in this classy setting was pure magic.
Of course, with a venue of this calibre, we knew we had to pull out all the stops to make sure the food lived up to the guests expectations, which is why this lucky lot was treated to Hog Roast Sherborne’s legendary BBQ spread. Featuring perfectly grilled free-range meats, tasty toppings and some sensational sides, there was something for everyone – and more!
Whether the guests were after a meaty beef burger topped with melting cheese and fried onions on a wholemeal bun, gourmet sausages on a gluten-free slider, chicken kebabs with a spicy Thai kick or sticky spareribs drenched in BBQ sauce, Hog Roast Sherborne had every craving covered. Even veggies and vegans were thrilled with our tasty grilled vegetable and halloumi kebab alternative, paired with tzatziki dip and sweet chilli sauce for an extra pop of flavour.
On the side, we had freshly prepared seasonal green leaf salad bursting with colourful market veg, moreish pasta salad and a mix of sweet potato and classic fries served with salt, vinegar and a wide selection of sauces.
The guests’ faces said it all as they filled their plates – and their bellies. The food was a hit and no one could resist sneaking an extra helping… or two!
