There’s More to Hog Roast Frome Than Our Name Suggests – This Wedding Proved It

Hog Roast FromeHog Roast Frome. The name gives a pretty clear impression of what we do, and yes – we do it very well. But if you’ve been quietly assuming that a hog roast is the only thing on offer, this one’s for you.

A recent wedding gave us the perfect opportunity to show exactly how much range sits behind our name, and as it turned out, the couple hadn’t quite anticipated what was waiting for them at the buffet table. After months of wedding planning – the kind that involves late nights, spreadsheets and more decision-making than any two people should have to endure – they arrived to find not just everything they’d hoped for, but something even better.

For the daytime celebrations, guests were treated to a menu bursting with delicious options. Whole roasted free-range chickens were served alongside homemade sage and onion stuffing, while beautifully cooked sirloin offered something a little different for beef lovers. Hog Roast Frome had also prepared grilled vegetable kebabs, complete with optional halloumi, plus BBQ pulled jackfruit sliders topped with plant-based slaw for vegan guests – suffice to say, no one went without.

And, of course, we’d given the sides just as much attention as the mains. With colourful salads, moreish potato dishes and plenty of fresh accompaniments presented alongside a selection of buns and sauces, guests were free to create the plate of their dreams. Some kept things simple, others piled on a bit of everything – and honestly, we don’t blame them.

As the afternoon drifted into evening, the celebrations welcomed another 65 guests. But rather than simply reheating leftovers or offering a light snack, Hog Roast Frome geared up to serve a second feast.

This time, our signature hog roast stole the spotlight.

Freshly carved pork, crispy crackling, savoury stuffing and applesauce were served with soft rolls and wraps, giving guests everything they needed to create the ultimate hog roast bap, while a meat-free alternative made sure the newcomers were just as well looked after as the afternoon crowd.

Seeing so many of the guests return for seconds – and hearing plenty of “you’ve got to try this” as they encouraged others towards the buffet – is always one of the best parts of the job.

For us, this wedding was a great reminder that no two celebrations are the same. Whether it’s a traditional hog roast, a bespoke wedding menu or a combination of both, Hog Roast Frome is all about creating food that guests will remember long after the last dance.
