Famed for being the most romantic day of the year, there are few occasions more tailored to tying the knot than Valentine’s Day, and this year, Hog Roast Minehead was called in to help bride and groom, Robyn and Sheamus, with their Love Day-themed nuptials.
Having gone on their first-ever date on February 14th 2017, and gotten engaged two years later on the exact same day, it made perfect sense for the pair to carry on their romantic tradition by getting hitched on Valentine’s Day as well! And not one’s to do anything by half measures, the couple’s chosen venue for the occasion was a dreamy, Edwardian manor house, which was surrounded by gorgeous, green landscapes. Inside, their chosen function hall even had cherubs carved into the ceiling moulding, gleaming marble floors and plenty of space for the guests to have a ball – literally!
To match the Valentine’s theme, all of the decorations on the day, including the wild rose bouquets and love heart-shaped balloons, were striking shades of scarlet and fuchsia, and the couple had also requested that the guests wear attire matching this theme. As well as this, Robyn had made sure that the place settings had an organza bag filled with heart-shaped chocolate wedding favours and mini bottles of champagne for each of the guests.
Hog Roast Minehead’s role was to impress the 200-strong wedding party with a stunning feast that matched the formal tone of Robyn and Sheamus’s big day – and we’re pleased to say, our team absolutely smashed it!
With help from our catering manager, Alistair, the couple was able to find the perfect menu for their needs. This was our Formal Wedding Catering Menu With an evening buffet, which began with a selection of canapé options, followed by the roasted duck starter and a choice of either the hog roast or chicken for the main course with a variety of salad and potato sides. For dessert, guests had the option of fresh fruit salad or profiteroles, followed by a slice of wedding cake and, later in the evening, a buffet of hot bacon and sausage barms.
Robyn and Sheamus were delighted with Hog Roast Minehead’s efforts, which allowed them and their guests to dance the night away without a care in the world.
