With more Brits desiring higher wages, a better work-life balance and a more relaxed way of life with better weather conditions, it’s becoming more and more common for people to move overseas in search of something better. But while living and working in another country certainly comes with its perks, making the decision to leave behind everything and everyone you’ve ever known is rarely easy.
Knowing just how much her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Luke were struggling with their decision to accept an amazing job opportunity in the USA, Helen had decided to throw the pair a surprise ‘bon voyage’ party to show her support and wish the couple good luck in their new chapter, and she had asked Hog Roast Weston Super Mare to help out with the catering.
Cheryl and Luke were none the wiser to Helen’s plans, all they knew was that they had been asked to pop in for a visit before their flight the following day. In reality, though, Helen had spent the whole day busily preparing her home for the party, which involved handing up signs, blowing up balloons and moving the furniture around to give the guests more space to move around.
Ever the punctual posse, the Hog Roast Weston Super Mare team arrived at the client’s residence hours before the party kicked off, and using their window of time wisely, they prepped our Southern Slow Roast Spread, which consisted of Texan 24 hour beef brisket, fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens and BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls with coleslaw, mac and cheese and mixed fries as the side options. They also prepared profiteroles and a New York-style cheesecake for dessert, both of which were served with fresh cream and ripe berries.
When Cheryl and Luke arrived at Helen’s home to find their whole family waiting for them, they were shocked and very emotional, but the massive show of support from their loved ones assured them that they had made the right decision when they chose to move abroad. After exchanging a few teary words and wishing the couple well, Helen raised a glass to the pair and the celebrations commenced.
While the occasion was bittersweet, everyone had a splendid time, and thanks to Hog Roast Weston Super Mare, no one went hungry!
