Sometimes it does a world of good just to get away for a little while from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy some good down time with some good friends and some good food. That was certainly the case the other week for loyal Hog Roast Portishead customer Anthony who celebrated an anniversary by heading out to the wonderful Beeches hotel in Bristol for some classic hog roast dining with Hog Roast Portishead. Along with 35 guests, Anthony enjoyed some of the best that Hog Roast Portishead has to offer, bringing us out for a small catering service amongst his guests, all of which was cooked up and served by Alistair and the team here.
We found The Beeches to be a perfect venue for this anniversary getaway. Its’ beautiful stately manor was second only to its impressive surrounding gardens that were in top shape even for this wintery time of year. What better a setting to enjoy some of the best in barbecue and roast dining then. Had the weather been a little better we would have loved to head out to the gardens for a good old roast cook out in the sun, but nevertheless our enclosed hog roasting units still allow us to create the perfect spectacle and taste of the golden hog roast indoors.
For Anthony’s 35 guests one hog roast was more than enough to get everyone fed, enjoyed along with our freshly made apple sauce, a homemade sage and onion stuffing, the classic golden crackling, bubbly and crispy that it is, and an accompaniment of seasonal mixed salads, coleslaw, roasted new potatoes and as many gluten free rolls that you can pile onto the plate with you. For the veggies in the party there was all the accompaniments to go along with our excellent grilled veg and halloumi skewers in place of the meaty pork roast. This was all more than enough food to keep the party of 35 well fed, and Anthony no doubt had a suitcase filled with leftover food to take back home away with him after his getaway.
If you’re planning a weekend away why not pair the vacation with some fine dining from Hog Roast Portishead just like Anthony!
