Nestled near the border where Somerset meets Dorset, the tiny civil parish town of Yeovil is a paradise for nature enthusiasts and surrounded by breathtaking vistas and historical landmarks; there are few places more beautiful to get hitched. Knowing this better than anyone was the owners of Halstock Leigh’s Daisy Farm, Michelle and Andy, who ended August with a bang by getting married at their gorgeous countryside allotment, surrounded by 34 of their closest friends and relatives.
As established farmers who pride themselves on rearing free-range, naturally fed animals, the pair had been determined to serve a wedding breakfast that was not only delicious but reflected their core values, which is what brought them to Hog Roast Yeovil in the first place. Here, they were introduced to our extensive assortment of menu solutions, each of which offers a divine farm-to-table dining experience to suit every occasion.
Michelle and Andy were immediately impressed by everything we had to offer them, and with some help from Hog Roast Yeovil’s catering manager, Alistair, they decided to piece together their very own, entirely bespoke menu plan.
The feast they had chosen included our beautifully tender, roasted pork joints with applesauce and savoury stuffing, succulent chicken skewers with peppers and onion, gourmet sausages and 100% British beef handmade burgers with sides of tomato and mozzarella salad, coleslaw, pasta salad, Thai salad, a mixed salad without the dressing, corn cobettes, roasted baby potatoes and chips. In addition to the main meal, the menu also included our stunning antipasti platters, which brings together a delicious combination of deli meats, cheeses, artisan bread, olives and sundried tomatoes.
The massive feast took our crew a good few hours to complete, but by 3 pm (the couple’s chosen serving time), our Hog Roast Yeovil catering team had managed to successfully finish the spread, which Michelle and Andy couldn’t have been more pleased with! Everything on the menu was cooked to absolute perfection and served beautifully using the couples’ own crockery and cutlery, which only added to the overall experience. Everyone had a really lovely time, and we’re so pleased to have been involved!
