A beautiful sunny June evening, drinks were flowing and the smell of Hog Roast Cheddar’s food circling the air, the perfect setting. A great day to celebrate a birthday, especially a milestone birthday!
Hog Roast Cheddar had the pleasure of catering at Gillie’s 60th Birthday party in West Wittering last Saturday. She had the most amazing and spacious garden for the event. One of the kind gardens that lead right down to the sea where their boat sat bombing up and down following the movement of the waves. If you looked dead ahead, you saw the magnificent sea that stretched for miles, if you looked either side of you, you could see endless Somerset countryside and behind was the host’s spectacular house. Hog Roast Cheddar’s most picturesque location to cater at so far for sure!
Gillie and her guests enjoyed a slowly roasted whole pig, served in a roll as succulent pulled pork and accompanied with sage and onion stuffing and a sauce of choice. Crunchy crackling was also on offer from the pig and a furry friend also enjoyed the pig’s ear! The guests enjoyed a colourful and tasty mixed salad, crisp and creamy coleslaw and sweet cherry tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad with fresh basil leaves. These salads were freshly prepared on site in front of the guests and compliment the hog roast exceedingly well.
The food was served on bamboo, wooden plates that Gillie loved! The bamboo plates are prefect for any alfresco dining scenario as they just blend into whatever outdoor setting the event is in. They are also biodegradable and therefore eco-friendly which is always a bonus!
To ensure government restrictions were abided to, neighbours rode round on bikes to wish Gillie a happy birthday and collect food. The food was then stored in the bike’s cute wicker baskets to stay safe until they arrived home to enjoy it!
Gillie was very grateful to the team for helping to make her 60th so perfect and the team thoroughly enjoyed being part of her celebrations and wish her a 60th year full of love, laughter, and new adventures!
